Dead Outbreak is a web game, developed by Zombie Games Inc., that immerses gamers in a post-apocalyptic world where players must survive swarms of zombies. The goal of the game is to strategically battle your way through hordes of undead while scavenging cities and towns in search of supplies and survivors. Players must gather materials to construct weapons, build walls and barricades, and scout out the safest routes to survive another day in the zombie-ridden wasteland. At the start of the game, you are required to create a character. You can choose a pre-defined character or customize your own. Customizing your character is a lot of fun and gives you the option to choose your gender, skin tone, facial features, and clothing. Don't like the character you have created? You are able to change your character at any time.
The game is set in a large open world map and you have the ability to explore towns and cities, search buildings and look for survivors, and scavenge for supplies. Use the arrow keys to move your character around the map and interact with objects and non-playable characters. As you explore further and further, you will uncover new areas and embark on different missions.
You will inevitably bump into hordes of zombies as you explore the map. When this happens, you need to be prepared to fight. To combat the never-ending zombies, you must collect the resources around you and use them to build weapons such as firearms and blades. You can also use the environment to your advantage by constructing walls and barricades to block off zombies or lead them into a trap. Make sure you're prepared at all times because they won't stop coming!
When battling zombies, you must rely on the combination of your weapons, team, and environment to survive. You will be able to gather new weapons and tools while exploring the map. Use these to battle zombies and protect your team. You can even use the environment to your advantage by hiding behind objects or using the terrain to help you navigate your way through hordes of zombies. Be careful when fighting as one wrong move can end your team's journey.
Along with battling zombies, your team must also gather resources in order to survive. Scavenge for resources such as food, water, and medicine. You can find these resources in abandoned buildings, towns, and cities. Collect more than what you need in case you come across other survivors who need help. Be careful, as some of these locations are infested with zombies.
As you explore, you will come across missions that you and your team must complete in order to progress through the game. Missions can include rescuing survivors, gathering resources, and even clearing out zombie hordes. These missions will help you progress through the game and can earn you bonus resources as you complete them. Pay attention to the mission requirements, as failing a mission could lead to grave consequences.
